Laramie, WY (September 21, 2015) – Ivinson Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility received a Nursing Home Quality Award from Mountain-Pacific Quality Health, designated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as the Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization for Wyoming, during the LeadingAge Wyoming Annual Meeting in Cheyenne on September 7, 2016. Ivinson Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility received the Quality of Excellence Award for outstanding performance in providing excellent care. Awardees were required to be in good standing with Wyoming’s regulatory agency for licensing and certification, the Office of Healthcare Licensing and Survey, and had to achieve a National Nursing Home Quality of Care Composite score of 6.0 or lower at least one time during 2015. The Composite score is a system created by CMS to assess quality of care in long-term care facilities and is based on 13 quality measures—the lower the score, the better. The award also recognizes Ivinson Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility’s strong leadership support for providing quality care. The Quality of Excellence Award is the highest level of Nursing Quality Awards, and Ivinson Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility was one of nine Wyoming long-term care facilities to meet the qualifications.
